International Travellers From These 36 Countries Can Use Malaysia’s Autogates From 1 June

From 1 June onwards, travellers from 46 countries will be allowed to use Malaysia’s autogates for entry into the country.
Previously, only visitors from 10 countries were permitted to utilize the electronic immigration clearance system, which was exclusively for Malaysians.
Home Minister Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail announced the addition of 36 more low-risk countries on 16 May, bringing the total number eligible for autogate facilities to 46.
The purpose of this expansion is to ease congestion at immigration checkpoints, particularly at KLIA Terminals 1 and 2.
Additionally, diplomatic staff and their families working in Malaysia will also have access to the autogate facility.
Among the newly included countries are members of the European Union, as well as Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Canada, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
This list supplements the countries previously allowed access, such as Australia, Brunei, Germany, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, United States, and United Kingdom.
Saifuddin mentioned that 40 more autogate machines will be installed at airports, bringing the total to 98.
He expressed confidence that this initiative will expedite immigration clearance while maintaining security standards.
The decision to implement this measure comes in response to the significant influx of travellers into the country, which amounted to 40 million between 1 January and April this year.
