“This is your first grandchild, Mom.” Ubai is about to become a dad soon.

The husband of singer Shila Amzah, Ubai MZ, admitted feeling jittery about becoming a father soon. According to Ubai, who is also known as Muhammad Ubaidillah Mohd Zulkefli, 26, he’s been getting ready for the baby’s arrival by learning baby care online and seeking advice from people around him.
“I definitely feel nervous about being a dad. This is my first time, previously I became a dad when the child was already grown up. I’ve learned a lot from the internet and my wife herself. I’m prepared because my friends who are already dads say I won’t be getting much sleep at night. But I’m more worried about my wife because she’s the one giving birth.”
Meanwhile, Ubai also shared a touching moment when he visited the grave of his late mother, Rohani Jamal, who passed away on July 30.
“The feeling of not having a mother is different, especially now that I’m going to be a dad. A day before Ramadan, I went to visit my mom’s grave. I had a monologue in front of her grave. I said to her, ‘Mom, this is your grandchild, your first grandchild.’ It felt emotional because this is her first grandchild. What I miss the most is helping her cook for breaking fast.”
Looking back, Shila officially became Ubai’s wife on August 5, 2023, and they are now expecting their first child together. Shila had previously divorced Haris Idraki on February 8, 2022, after four years of marriage. From that marriage, they were blessed with a son, Seth Uwais.
