Recently, a video went viral on TikTok (@thestomachdoc) where health expert Dr. Joseph Salhab shared a clip of American actress Jenna Ortega enjoying a kiwi without peeling it first.

Dr. Joseph explained that eating kiwi with the skin on is actually beneficial. You get 50% more fiber, as well as additional vitamins and nutrients from the skin.

According to Hello Sehat, a study by the European Journal of Nutrition (2018) also revealed that kiwi skin contains 32% more folate (vitamin B) and 34% more vitamin E than the flesh of the fruit.

Clean and Remove the Fine Hairs from Kiwi for a Softer Texture

However, it’s important to thoroughly clean the skin with water and remove the fine hairs on the fruit. Removing these fine hairs not only enhances the cleanliness of the fruit but also makes it softer and easier to eat.
