Woman’s Hilarious Presentation Decides Family’s Hari Raya Outfit Theme

Choosing a coordinated outfit theme for the whole family during Hari Raya Aidilfitri can be a challenge, but one Malaysian woman has turned it into a delightful experience.
In a 41-second TikTok clip shared by user @kuahdal, the woman showcased her unique approach to simplify the decision-making process. She gathered her family for a presentation to determine the theme for their festive outfits.
The presentation included slides with inspiring photos of traditional baju kurung and baju Melayu, serving as visual examples for outfit ideas. To tackle the challenge of choosing a color, she added a color chart displaying various attractive shades suitable for the occasion.
“Since it’s so difficult to decide on a color,” she wrote in the caption of the TikTok video.
In a conversation with SAYS, the woman shared that her family often gathers on Sundays, providing the perfect opportunity for her creative presentation.
“I created the slides at 3 am because I couldn’t sleep, and it took me only 30 minutes to prepare the materials.
“My family was impressed by the presentation, especially the history slide because I was able to track down every color and theme that we’ve worn since 2012,” she said.
Taking the lead in decision-making, she addressed the family’s past challenges in selecting a theme, which often led to last-minute decisions.
“Thankfully, the presentation was a success! We decided to color block this year — the girls will wear pink, and the guys will wear green or blue,” she added.
The video has gained over 1.5 million views, with netizens sharing their own color choices for Hari Raya outfits.
“This is so true. [Deciding on a theme is difficult because] one wants to wear apple green while the other wants sky blue,” commented a user.
“I’ve been asking my mum to choose olive green since last year. In the end, she told me, ‘We’ll go with brick orange and we can do the olive green color you want for next year,'” wrote another.
