Witness Claims Woman Was Allegedly Robbed

A man who witnessed the knife incident during the Rain Rave Water Music Festival in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, claimed the woman involved may have been a victim of theft before the situation escalated. In a video uploaded on Xiaohongshu, the witness, identified as Justin, said he was standing extremely close to the incident on Saturday, 2 May. Due to the large crowd and fences surrounding the area, he said there was nowhere for him to escape, leaving him with no choice but to take out his phone and record what was happening. Justin initially thought the woman was holding a fake knife because of its patterned appearance before realising it was likely real after noticing the way she held it and the reflection on the blade.

Witness Says He Was Too Scared To Move

Justin said the woman soon became involved in a heated confrontation with an older man and appeared ready to turn physical at any moment. “I wanted to run, but I couldn’t. Where I was standing, there was a fence behind me. To my left, right, and back, there were fences. So I really couldn’t escape; I could only record it,” he said. He described the fear during the situation as something impossible to explain and admitted he prayed the woman would not suddenly charge towards him. According to Justin, the older man reacted quickly and managed to take control of the situation before things became even worse. He later claimed that after his video went viral on Instagram, an individual identifying herself as the older man’s daughter contacted him and alleged that the woman’s belongings had been stolen before the incident happened.

Police Confirm Woman Was Arrested

According to Justin, the woman allegedly mistook the older man and his family for the thieves before suddenly charging at him with a knife. He claimed that if the older man had reacted even slightly slower, someone could have died that day and described him as “really kuat”. Justin said he decided to share his experience online to remind the public to always remain aware of their surroundings when attending crowded events. Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed that the 28-year-old suspect was arrested after being subdued by members of the public. Apart from the incident, police said the three-day festival involving around 180,000 attendees went smoothly without any other major issues.
