UK Family’s Vacation in Malaysia Soured by Alleged Racism Incident – ‘Get Me Out of Here’

A UK tourist family visiting Malaysia recently shared a distressing experience, claiming they faced racial discrimination that disrupted their vacation.

The tourist, part of the influencer family known as The Mwitis, recounted in a YouTube video how they were denied entry to their rented apartment for nearly two hours after arriving from the airport.

“I had higher hopes for Malaysia,” the tourist expressed, visibly disappointed.

He explained that after a long hour’s journey from the airport, their ordeal began when a security guard refused to let them into their rented apartment. Despite showing their booking details, the guard allegedly questioned their payment status and insisted they could not stay there.

“This was a nightmare. From the moment we arrived, the guard stopped us and said, ‘You can’t stay here.’ We had to sit at the gate with Amaya and Remi (their children) for almost two hours,” he shared.

The father revealed his frustration as he struggled to remain calm, feeling guilty for putting his wife through the stressful situation. “I was on the verge of tears,” he admitted.

After finally reaching their host, they were instructed to retrieve the apartment keys from a lockbox. The guard then requested their passports before granting entry but offered no apology.

“If this is Malaysia, get me out of here,” the tourist said emotionally, adding that being judged unfairly left him feeling sick to his stomach.

Despite the incident, the tourist concluded by highlighting the positive experiences they had later during their trip, emphasizing that “not everything was bad,” and acknowledging the many kind people they encountered.
