“No one could take care of her at home” – 10yo in Thailand Sits for Exam with 1yo Sister in Her Arms

Sometimes, we need to open our eyes and hearts wide and look at the people around us. Despite our daily challenges, we often don’t realize that our lives, filled with food, shelter, love, and comfort, are a dream for those who lack these basics.
Recently, a 10-year-old girl in Thailand had to sit for an exam at her school. However, there was a “barrier” she had to face. She had to take care of her 1-year-old sister. Despite this, the student went to school and took her exam with her sister in her arms.
The scene was captured by the student’s teacher on her TikTok @yingggzz, which has garnered an impressive 2.2 million views.
In the video, the 10-year-old girl is seen holding a pencil to answer exam questions with one hand, while her sister is comfortably tucked in her other arm. She truly embodies the spirit of a real-life Supergirl, juggling responsibilities that many children her age can’t imagine.
According to the post, the girl is currently in Primary 5 at Ban Klong Kaem Cham School in Prachin Buri.
“She is the eldest sister in her family. Her mum is busy running errands. But, I think this is so much better than skipping school,” the teacher wrote in the caption.
She added,
“I’m not sure how other teachers would feel, but I always tell my students not to miss class. Fortunately, her sister was easy to take care of.”
The student could have chosen to resit the exam if allowed by the teacher. Despite the hardship, she chose to silently carry her sister to school, focusing on both her exam paper and her sister. The story was also reported by Thailand news outlet, Thai PBS World.
Life experience has “trained” this child to be independent.
