Over 30 Roads in Kuala Lumpur to be Closed for 2024 Standard Chartered Marathon on 5 & 6 October

The Kuala Lumpur Police have announced significant road closures in preparation for the 2024 Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon, which will take place on 5th and 6th October. The event will kick off and conclude at Merdeka Square, with over 30 roads being affected.
Road Closures for 5th October (Saturday)
On the first day, dedicated to the 5KM and 10KM categories, 15 roads throughout the city will be closed or have traffic diversions in place from 5 AM to 12 PM.
Road Closures for 6th October (Sunday)
The second day will feature the 21KM and 42KM categories, with more extensive road closures starting from 3 AM until 12 PM, impacting 35 roads. The routes will be split into two, causing widespread disruptions.
Jalan Raja Closure
Since the marathon starts and ends at Dataran Merdeka, Jalan Raja will be fully closed from 8 PM on 4th October and will remain shut until 12 PM on 7th October.
Traffic Management
A total of 361 police officers will manage the closures in stages, including 16 Senior Officers and 345 Junior Officers.
