Journalist Says Reality In Tel Aviv Different From Official Narrative
An Indian journalist has sparked global discussion after claiming that the reality of Iranian missile attacks on Tel Aviv was far more severe than what was publicly reported.
Journalist Braj Mohan Singh said that during his time reporting from Israel, he witnessed incidents that contradicted official statements regarding the effectiveness of Israel’s defence systems.
His claims have drawn attention online, particularly as tensions between Israel and Iran continue to dominate headlines.
Claims Iranian Missiles And Drones Landed In Tel Aviv
According to Singh, Iranian ballistic missiles and drones managed to reach Tel Aviv despite claims that Israel’s defence systems had intercepted most incoming threats.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously stated that the country’s defence network, including the well-known Iron Dome, successfully protected the city from major damage.
However, Singh claimed that several Iranian projectiles still struck targets in Tel Aviv.
He said that while Israeli officials appeared confident in their military technology, the situation on the ground told a different story.
Media Access To Hospitals Restricted
Singh further alleged that journalists were not given full access to hospitals following the attacks.
According to him, this made it difficult for reporters to verify the real number of casualties and the scale of the damage.
He suggested that authorities restricted media access to prevent images or reports that might reveal the full impact of the strikes.
Singh claimed these restrictions prevented journalists from documenting victims or visiting certain locations where missile strikes had occurred.
“Bunker Protection Is Just Rhetoric,” Journalist Claims
In his account, Singh also challenged claims that underground bunkers offered reliable protection during missile attacks.
“Dakwaan bahawa bunker boleh melindungi anda hanyalah retorik. Saya melihat orang mati walaupun berada dalam bunker sedalam 100 kaki, dan mereka tidak memberitahu fakta sebenar,” he said.
His statement implied that the level of destruction caused by some of the strikes may have been underestimated publicly.
Journalist Compares Media Freedom
Singh also compared the level of media transparency he experienced while reporting in Israel to conditions in his home country.
“Kebebasan media di India jauh lebih baik berbanding di Israel. Kami rasa bersyukur kepada kerajaan India kerana mereka memberikan maklumat terperinci,” he said.
According to him, reporters in Israel were often not informed of the exact locations where attacks occurred.
He claimed journalists sometimes only discovered the actual sites of missile impacts the following day.
Local Witnesses Told A Different Story
Singh described a situation where official statements claimed only one person had died in an incident.
However, a local resident reportedly told him that four houses were destroyed and all occupants had been killed.
This, he suggested, indicated that the real scale of destruction might not have been fully disclosed.
Technology Can Still Fail During War
Singh also highlighted what he believed was a misconception regarding advanced defence technology.
While Israel’s missile defence systems are widely considered among the most sophisticated in the world, he argued that they are not foolproof.
“Kita sering diberitahu bahawa Israel mempunyai teknologi yang sangat canggih. Namun saya ingin beritahu bahawa pada suatu pagi awal, tiada siren berbunyi dan peluru berpandu tetap mengenai sasaran tanpa sebarang amaran,” he said.
According to Singh, drones and missiles can still bypass detection systems, making it extremely difficult to predict when or where an attack might occur.
Fear Of Wider Regional Escalation
Singh also warned that the broader conflict in the Middle East could escalate further.
He claimed Iran had targeted multiple US diplomatic missions across the region and could potentially attempt similar actions elsewhere.
“If that happens, we might not survive if we are there,” he said, reflecting the anxiety felt by some journalists reporting from conflict zones.
