Since Starbucks announced its financial support for Israel, the brand has faced opposition, particularly from those supporting Palestine and advocates for peace. This resistance is not limited to Malaysia; even in other countries, including Europe, Starbucks has witnessed a decline in customers in our chain of stores since the recent Israel-Palestine conflict.

In a recent statement, Starbucks CEO Laxman Narashimhan stated that those protesting against Starbucks regarding its stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict have been “influenced by misguided beliefs on social media.” Narashimhan highlighted that many Starbucks coffee shop chains have been affected by vandalism, and the safety of Starbucks employees has been compromised.

Additionally, they acknowledged the impact of the boycott campaigns conducted by Arab countries.

According to Bloomberg reports, Starbucks shares have experienced the most significant drop in 31 years, resulting in a loss of approximately RM55 billion for the company. In Malaysia, investors are advised to sell Berjaya Food shares due to the impact of the boycott.
