Who wouldn’t want to send off their loved ones at the airport when they’re heading far away, especially for religious journeys like Hajj or Umrah? However, Dunedin Airport in New Zealand has recently grabbed attention with a surprising new rule!
From now on, anyone sending off family members or friends is only allowed to hug and say goodbye for a maximum of three minutes. This rule has been implemented to prevent congestion in the passenger drop-off area, which has been a problem at the airport.
If you feel that three minutes isn’t enough, don’t worry! The airport management allows you to park your car in the parking area, where parking is free for the first 15 minutes. So, if you want to hug for a longer time, just park and enjoy those final moments!
Reports from CNN indicate that this hugging time limit has sparked a variety of reactions among netizens. Some agree with the rule, while others are not pleased.
What do you think? Is this regulation justified, or is it just a way to curb emotions when saying goodbye?
