Royal Council Responds To Criticism
Earlier on the same day, the Selangor Royal Council dismissed claims suggesting that the Sultan’s recent royal address at the state assembly interfered with the administration of the state government. In a separate statement posted on the Selangor Royal Office’s Facebook page, the council explained that the royal address delivered during the opening of the Fourth Term of the 15th Selangor State Legislative Assembly on April 20 was fully consistent with the principles of constitutional monarchy. According to the statement, a royal address or “titah” represents advice delivered in the language of the palace and remains part of the constitutional ruler’s responsibilities.
