A British family recently sparked discussions online after declaring that the Five Guys burgers and fries in Malaysia taste better than those in the UK. While Malaysia is famous for its diverse cuisine, it seems that even international fast food chains are winning over tourists with their quality and flavors.

Tasting Five Guys in Malaysia vs. the UK

In a TikTok video uploaded by @theunconventionalfam, a British woman shared her experience of trying Five Guys in Malaysia and later comparing it with the same chain in the UK. She was eager to see if there was a difference in taste, but the results were unexpected.

While the UK branch offered a more extensive menu, she and her family were disappointed after the first bite. They all agreed that the burgers and fries in Malaysia were far better.

One of the biggest letdowns for them was the lack of sauce variety in the UK version. They were only given mayonnaise, whereas in Malaysia, their burgers came with barbecue sauce, which they said enhanced the overall flavor.

Even their drinks tasted different, adding to their disappointment.

Shocking Price Difference Between UK & Malaysia

Aside from the taste, the British family was also shocked by the price difference between Five Guys in both countries.

At the UK outlet, they spent RM243.52 (£43.85) for just three burgers, one fries, and one drink.

At the end of the video, the woman expressed how much she missed Malaysian food and couldn’t wait to return.

Malaysia – A Global Food Paradise

Malaysia has long been a top destination for food lovers. According to Agoda, the country was recently ranked as the fifth-best food paradise in Asia, thanks to its diverse local dishes like Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai, Nasi Kandar, Cendol, and Durian.

While people visit Malaysia mainly for its authentic local flavors, it appears that even international fast food chains taste better here. This raises the question—is it the ingredients, the cooking style, or just better quality control?

For now, one thing is clear: this British family is already planning their next food trip back to Malaysia!
