The fundraiser reached its symbolic goal of RM100,000 when Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohammad Sabu (Mat Sabu) contributed an additional RM2,000 from his personal funds.

A Meaningful Ramadan Gesture The charitable iftar event was held at the Amber Chinese Muslim Restaurant opposite KLCC and organized by the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM). This initiative highlighted the power of collective effort and cultural solidarity in the holy month of Ramadan.

MAPIM president Mohammad Azmi Abdul Hamid commended the Chinese Muslim community for their generosity, emphasizing that their contribution reflects the universal value of compassion that transcends race and nationality.

Malaysia’s Ongoing Commitment to Gaza Encouraged by the fundraiser’s success, MAPIM announced plans for a second donation drive aiming to collect another RM100,000 from Malaysian donors.

Meanwhile, Mat Sabu reaffirmed Malaysia’s ongoing dedication to supporting Gaza, highlighting the country’s plans to build schools, hospitals, and mosques in the conflict-hit region as part of Malaysia’s broader humanitarian commitment.

A Powerful Message of Solidarity The fundraiser not only achieved financial success but also served as a powerful reminder of Malaysia’s multicultural strength. The event demonstrated how people from different backgrounds can unite in the spirit of compassion and empathy during challenging times.

As Israel’s military offensive in Gaza escalates, the urgent need for humanitarian aid continues to grow. This fundraising effort stands as a symbol of unity and generosity, reminding Malaysians of the impact they can make through collective action.
