The clips quickly gained attention online as many viewers found the animals’ reactions adorable. Some even praised the women for showing kindness to what they believed were hungry animals.

However, wildlife experts have stepped forward warning that feeding wild animals can be dangerous for both humans and the creatures involved.

Siamangs Roam Near School, Teacher Offers Them Fruit

In one viral TikTok clip, several wild siamangs were spotted wandering around a school compound. One siamang was seen sitting near the teachers’ office doorway, curiously observing its surroundings.

Feeling amused by the animal’s behavior, a teacher decided to offer an orange to the group of siamangs, which they accepted eagerly.

While the moment appeared harmless, wildlife experts explained that such interactions can have serious consequences for both sides.

Woman Feeds Gibbon a Slice of Watermelon in the Forest

On another platform, Threads, a woman was filmed feeding a gibbon a slice of watermelon while walking in a forest area.

The gibbon appeared to enjoy the fruit before running off with the leftovers. The woman smiled while recording the encounter, and the video quickly spread across social media, drawing thousands of views.

Many netizens described the act as heartwarming, but wildlife experts strongly disagreed and reminded the public that feeding wild primates can alter their behavior and expose both humans and animals to health risks.

Experts Warn Feeding Wild Animals Can Cause Death

Conservationists explained that human food can harm or even kill wild animals since their digestive systems are not built to handle it.

Regular feeding may also make them dependent on humans, leading to aggression when food is not provided. In some cases, these animals might attack humans or become a nuisance in populated areas.

Experts also warned that close contact between humans and wildlife increases the risk of disease transmission, which can be deadly for both. They reminded the public that such actions can violate wildlife protection laws and disrupt conservation efforts.

Netizens React With Mixed Opinions

While some social media users expressed regret after learning the risks, others admitted they did not realize feeding wild animals could be harmful.

Several conservation groups have urged Malaysians to stop feeding or touching wild animals and to report sightings to authorities if the animals appear sick, injured, or lost.
