Abang Bas, who was recently freed after a RM40,000 bail payment by Malaysian lawyer Datuk Ahmad Zaharil Muhaiyar, is now set to pursue legal action against his critics.

Speaking to the media on September 17, Datuk Ahmad urged netizens and unnamed celebrities who criticized Abang Bas to prepare for legal consequences.

He stated, “Break open your piggy banks and count your money. It’ll make things easier. Abang Bas has faced a lot of criticism after his arrest.”

The lawyer did not specify when the legal action will be taken but advised those who have criticized Abang Bas to apologize if they wish to avoid being sued. “There is still time for you to apologize.”

Datuk Ahmad is also working to retrieve the bus confiscated by the police and is challenging the fairness of the situation, emphasizing that Abang Bas deserves a fair assessment beyond social media assumptions.

In a TikTok live session, Datuk Ahmad described Abang Bas as a well-intentioned person who simply misunderstood the term “crush.” He clarified that Abang Bas had used the term without knowing its true meaning, which led to controversy over videos and pictures he posted.

The bail covers three charges, including one under the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017 and another under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

What are your thoughts on the family’s decision to take legal action?
