“Imagine Being Hungry & Unable To Speak” — Kind UiTM Students Help Starving Puppy
A touching moment from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam has captured hearts across Malaysia, as students were seen feeding a severely malnourished stray puppy on campus.
The viral TikTok video, shared by @polymerclique on 25 April, shows students from the School of Applied Sciences gently caring for the puppy, which appeared weak and visibly underfed.
“Life is so unfair. Imagine being hungry, hot, and not being able to speak a word,” wrote the students, who are pursuing a degree in Engineered Polymer Technology.
They bought food for the dog and tried feeding it by hand before placing the meal in a small plastic container. The puppy responded better to the latter approach and was also given clean water to drink.
“Helping one dog might not change the world, but it changes their world,” they added in the caption.
The video has since garnered over 300,000 views, with commenters praising the students’ empathy and asking if the puppy was safe.
In a follow-up post dated 26 April, the students shared that the puppy was no longer at the same spot when they returned later that day. However, they had already notified the appropriate authorities to ensure the animal’s wellbeing.
“Don’t worry. We’ve done our part and we’re continuing to care. We’re praying it’s safe and hope to find it again,” they said, assuring concerned followers that they were committed to helping the puppy further if found.
