A viral billboard showing bizarre search queries left Malaysians scratching their heads — until one influencer uncovered the twist.
What started as a bizarre sight on the LDP has now turned into one of the most talked-about marketing twists of the week. On 13 May, drivers stuck in afternoon traffic were surprised to see a digital billboard flashing what looked like a random collection of personal search queries — including “What does cat food taste like?” and other equally strange questions.
At first, many thought it was an accident — perhaps someone had forgotten to log out of their Google account while preparing a presentation. Others speculated it might be a prank. But things took an unexpected turn when local influencer @isawkwardguy uploaded a video reacting to the strange sight.
In the clip shared on Instagram, the influencer is visibly confused. “What are these questions???” he exclaims, describing the billboard as a random stream of search bar entries with no brand, logo, or explanation in sight.
Curious, he points to the screen and jokingly reads one of the queries aloud to his off-screen “babe”: “What does cat food taste like?” Instead of a human response, viewers are surprised by a robotic voice that answers, “Bland and slightly metallic.”
The influencer then continues the conversation — not with his partner, but with a voice assistant. The surprise reveal? He’s actually speaking to Gemini Live, Samsung’s real-time AI chatbot.
The mystery was soon cleared up when Samsung issued a statement confirming that the campaign was a teaser for its new AI feature. The intentionally cryptic billboard was designed to showcase Gemini Live’s ability to engage in real-time, conversational responses using natural queries — even the absurd ones.
