JDT Celebrates ‘Fireworks’ for the 11th Consecutive Time

Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) has secured the Super League championship for the 11th consecutive season in 2024/2025 after defeating Perak FC 2-0 at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium earlier tonight.

This victory allows Hector Bidoglio’s squad to collect 58 points after 20 matches, with four games remaining. Meanwhile, their closest competitor, Selangor, with 42 points, will not be able to overtake the Southern Tigers even if they win all five of their remaining matches.

JDT is determined to make history in pursuit of the ‘Triple Quadruple,’ having already clinched the Charity Shield, FA Cup, and Super League titles this season. Now, they are setting their sights on winning the Malaysia Cup for the third consecutive year in a single season.

Bidoglio’s players showed early signs of aggression, starting with a dangerous header by Corbin Ong in the eighth minute. A minute later, Arif Aiman Hanapi fired a low shot that was saved by goalkeeper Haziq Nadzli.

The Southern Tigers missed a golden opportunity to break the deadlock in the 25th minute when Arif Aiman’s corner kick found Eddy Israfilov, whose header narrowly missed the left post, with Haziq Nadzli already beaten.

JDT continued to search for the opening goal but struggled to capitalize on their chances, particularly in the 39th minute when Arif Aiman set up Jorge Obregon, whose shot hit the left post of The Bos Gaurus’ goal.

Just as the first half was about to end, Arif Aiman displayed his agility by slipping past Tommy Mawat into the penalty area before passing the ball to Jese Rodriguez, who was left unmarked. Jese calmly slotted a low shot past Haziq Nadzli to give JDT a 1-0 lead.

At the start of the second half, JDT remained relentless in their attack, aiming to increase their lead. However, Haziq Nadzli’s resilience between the posts denied several dangerous attempts from Bidoglio’s men.

In the 61st minute, referee Ahmad Zuhaidi Dzulkifli spotted the ball hitting Perak FC defender Ariff Ar-Rasyid Arifin’s hand inside the penalty box, immediately awarding a penalty kick.

Obregon stepped up in the 63rd minute and confidently placed a low shot into the right corner, beating Haziq Nadzli to give the home team a comfortable 2-0 lead, which remained unchanged until the final whistle.
