Police Confirm Kajang Incident Linked To Land Dispute

Selangor Police have officially confirmed that the viral pickup truck collision in Kampung Sungai Jernih, near Kajang, stemmed from a personal land dispute and not from gang-related or racial tensions.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar stated that investigations found the incident was triggered by disagreements over land ownership and the use of a lorry access route in the area.

“Polis Selangor ingin menegaskan insiden ini adalah berkaitan perselisihan faham peribadi dan sama sekali tidak membabitkan sebarang unsur gengsterisme mahupun perkauman,” he said in a statement today.

Two Separate Police Reports Filed

Following the incident, police received two separate reports which are now being investigated under multiple provisions of the Penal Code.

The case has been classified under Sections 307 and 279 of the Penal Code, as well as Sections 395 and 365.

According to Shazeli, five individuals including one foreign national have been detained to assist investigations.

Complainants And Suspects Switched Roles

In a twist, investigations revealed that the suspect in the first report was the complainant in the second report — and vice versa.

This development suggests that both parties were involved in the confrontation that escalated into the collision captured on video.

Police Urge Public Not To Speculate

Authorities have urged the public to refrain from spreading speculation that could disrupt public order.

Earlier, police detected the viral video at approximately 11:41 AM showing a pickup truck colliding with a motorcycle ridden by a local man.

Initial findings indicate that the motive was a personal dispute over land and access routes for heavy vehicles in the area.

Investigation Ongoing

The case remains under active investigation. Police have reiterated that the incident is not linked to gang activity or racial conflict, despite online speculation.

Further updates are expected once investigations are completed.
