Teenager Detained After Viral Video Shows Him Punching Teacher at Kajang School

A shocking incident at a school in Kajang has gone viral after a video surfaced showing a 14-year-old male student physically assaulting his teacher. The altercation reportedly occurred after the student was reprimanded for skipping his Physical Education (PE) class.

Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof confirmed that the student became aggressive following the scolding, leading to a violent confrontation on school grounds. In the 38-second video that has since circulated widely on social media, the student can be heard provoking the teacher with the words “come at me” before delivering a punch to the teacher’s face.

Naazron stated that the incident took place within the school compound and was witnessed by both teachers and students present at the time. The 29-year-old teacher involved later filed a police report at around 7.15pm on the same day, Tuesday, 29 July.

Following the report, authorities located and detained the student in the Kajang area. He has been remanded for two days to assist in the investigation. The teen is scheduled to be formally charged on 30 July at the Kajang Magistrates’ Court under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which pertains to voluntarily causing hurt.

The disturbing video and news of the assault have sparked public concern regarding student discipline and teacher safety in schools. Authorities are continuing their investigation while the case proceeds to court.
