KDA FC Still Struggling with Unpaid Salaries, But Announce Talks to Bring Ricardo Quaresma to Join the Super League in 2025/26 Season

Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC) has shocked the local football scene by announcing plans to bring Portugal football legend Ricardo Quaresma to join the team for the upcoming season.

Despite the club still being plagued by unpaid player salaries, KDA FC owner Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar revealed in an official statement on the club’s social media that discussions with Quaresma had started as early as March 2025.

Fully Sponsored by International Sponsors

According to Tan Sri Daud Bakar, the negotiations also involve international sponsors who are willing to fully cover the costs of bringing Quaresma to Darul Aman.

“The discussions with Ricardo Quaresma and the international sponsors have been ongoing since March 2025. If everything goes smoothly, all expenses will be covered by the sponsors — not KDA FC’s internal funds.”

He emphasized that this is a great honor for KDA FC and proves that the club is still relevant in the eyes of international investors, despite various speculations that KDA FC is struggling and nearly ‘buried’.

There Is Still Hope for Sang Kenari

The club owner also expressed optimism that KDA FC could still rise again, provided they receive continued support from local fans and the football community.

“Many think KDA FC is finished. But as long as there’s a chance, we will keep fighting. Your support is crucial for us to stay alive,” he added.

To conclude, Tan Sri Daud also invited the public to attend the Darul Aman Stadium on May 3, 2025, to watch the All Star Kedah vs All Star Malaysia friendly match, which will feature Ricardo Quaresma exclusively.
