Water turns red at a beach in Sabah as many jellyfish come ashore in a strange event. People all over Malaysia are talking about it because photos and videos of the unusual sight are spreading quickly on social media.
Thousands of jellyfish ended up on the shore in Kuala Penyu. Sabah News Today got pictures from their readers and shared them on Facebook. They explained that this strange thing happened yesterday, March 27th. In the pictures, you can see lots of jellyfish lying on Kampung Jangkit beach, almost covering the entire stretch of sand. Some jellyfish even got washed up several meters away from the sea, probably during high tide. Because there are so many jellyfish on the beach, the water nearby looks red, which makes the scene even stranger.
Daily Express Malaysia also talked about this. They shared a video made by Justin Tianji, who lives in Kampung Kiara nearby and went to see the beach at Kampung Jangkit. Lots of Malaysians are commenting on Sabah News Today’s Facebook post about the event.
One person thinks the hot weather in the area lately might have caused it. Another person said they wouldn’t want to be at that beach because they’d get stung by jellyfish if they walked there. Someone else thinks this is just a normal thing that happens in nature and tells people not to worry about it.
