Shocking Incident: Woman Alleges She Was Filmed While Changing
A woman recently claimed she was secretly recorded by a male employee while changing clothes in a fitting room at a clothing store in Kuala Lumpur. The disturbing incident allegedly occurred around 6.30pm on 27 July.
Alert From Another Shopper Sparked Immediate Alarm
According to the woman, she was in the middle of changing when another female shopper outside suddenly shouted that someone had been filming them. In shock, she immediately got dressed and left the fitting room to investigate the situation.
She claimed she saw a male store staff member acting suspiciously and rushing to the staff locker area. A nearby male customer also noticed the commotion and stepped in to help confront the man.
Staff Member Gave Contradictory Explanations
At first, the male staff member denied the accusations and gave conflicting reasons for his behaviour. Initially, he claimed he went to adjust his pants, but later said he was taking a selfie in front of the fitting room — an excuse the woman called “nonsensical.”
The woman pointed out the contradictions: “First he said staff aren’t allowed to use their phones during work hours, and then he said he took selfies at the fitting room? It doesn’t make sense.”
Store Manager’s Response Questioned
She asked the store manager to review CCTV footage, but was informed that the only cameras were at the cashier counter — not near the fitting room. Rather than taking immediate action, the manager reportedly spoke privately with the staff member for about 20 minutes.
The woman said it was only after she and the other customer threatened to involve the police that the employee finally admitted to recording the act and apologised.
No Police Report Filed, But Incident Recorded
Despite the confession, no formal police report was filed. However, the woman recorded the encounter on her phone as a form of self-protection. At the time of reporting, the identity of the store and the shopping mall remains undisclosed.
