Lorry Slams Into Proton Wira On DUKE, Drives Off As Dashcam Footage Goes Viral

Dashcam Video Of DUKE Highway Crash Spreads Online

A dashcam recording showing a lorry colliding with a Proton Wira on the Duta–Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE) has been circulating widely on social media.

The video shows the moment the lorry hits the car while both vehicles were travelling along the highway. The impact causes the Proton Wira to spin across the road, resembling the effect of a precision immobilisation technique often seen in police pursuits.

The footage quickly drew attention online due to how suddenly the crash happened.

Witness Shares Incident On Facebook

The dashcam clip was shared by a netizen named Chingyee Hwee on the DashCam Owners Malaysia Facebook page.

According to her post, the incident occurred on Saturday, 28 February, sometime between 3:50pm and 4:00pm while she was driving along the DUKE Highway.

She explained that she was travelling in the left lane when a lorry from the middle lane suddenly moved into her lane.

“Around 3:50 PM to 4:00 PM today, along the DUKE Highway, I witnessed a traffic accident. I was driving in the left lane when a lorry from the middle lane cut into my lane and collided with the Proton Wira in front of me. The Wira spun into the middle of the road after the impact,” she wrote.

Lorry Driver Did Not Stop After Collision

Despite the crash, the lorry driver did not immediately stop.

Instead, the vehicle continued driving along the highway even after hitting the Proton Wira.

In the dashcam recording, Chingyee can be heard shouting toward the lorry driver, “Stop your lorry!” before the video ends.

The brief clip shows how quickly the situation unfolded on the busy highway.

Proton Wira Owner Later Contacts Witness

After the footage was posted online, the owner of the Proton Wira reportedly reached out to Chingyee to obtain a copy of the video.

The owner later confirmed in the comment section that a police report had already been lodged following the incident.

“I’m the owner of the car; I already lodged a report at the police station after the incident. My car also has a dashcam, but I will also send this video shared by Chingyee to the Sergeant. Thank you to those who were concerned. Stay safe on the road,” the owner wrote.

The additional footage is expected to help authorities with their investigation.
