Man Arrested After Clinging To Ex-Wife’s Moving Car In Johor
11-Second Clip Sparks Online Attention
An 11-second viral video has led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man after he was seen clinging to a moving car in Bandar Seri Alam, Johor.
The clip, widely circulated on social media, shows the man holding onto the front of a vehicle before eventually falling off onto the road.
Dispute With Ex-Wife Allegedly Triggered Incident
According to Seri Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Sohaimi Ishak, the incident took place at about 3.30pm on Saturday, 28 February.
Police believe the situation began with an argument between the suspect and his ex-wife at a supermarket in Bandar Seri Alam.
“The argument is believed to have started at a supermarket in Bandar Seri Alam before the man climbed onto the car’s bonnet and clung to the front of the vehicle driven by the woman, before falling off,” he said in a statement.
Car Window Smashed, Belongings Taken
The woman reportedly continued driving for approximately 2km after the man fell off.
However, she was later stopped by a group of individuals believed to be the suspect’s friends. During the confrontation, her car window was smashed and her belongings were allegedly taken.
Arrest & Drug Test Results
The suspect was arrested at Jalan Persisiran Seri Alam at 2am on Sunday, 1 March.
Police confirmed that he tested positive for ketamine. He has no prior criminal record.
The man will be remanded for seven days to assist in investigations.
Investigations Under Multiple Laws
The case is currently being investigated under Section 384 of the Penal Code for extortion, Section 427 for mischief, and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug use.
Authorities have not released further details at the time of writing.
