Melaka Introduces Innovative SMART Hydrobikes for River Cleanup and Recreation!

Melaka TV recently featured Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka’s (UTeM) groundbreaking initiative—the SMART Hydrobike.

This unique water bike not only provides a novel recreational experience but also aids in cleaning up the Melaka River.Melaka TV shared on its Facebook page, “The ‘SMART Hydrobike’ is a new initiative to clean the Melaka River, an innovative product of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) that introduces new facilities at the Melaka River, complementing the Melaka River Cruise.”

Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan, the State Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Communication Exco, highlighted the bike’s dual benefits, stating, “In addition to having the advantage of collecting garbage, the bicycle also encourages users to adopt a healthy lifestyle.”

The SMART Hydrobike features a net attached to its front, allowing users to collect rubbish from the Melaka River while enjoying a cycling experience on the water.

This initiative not only adds a fun and eco-friendly activity for visitors to Melaka but also promotes community involvement in keeping the river clean. Now, your next visit to Melaka can be both enjoyable and environmentally impactful with the SMART Hydrobike.
