Oscar Fever! ‘Abang Adik’ To Represent Malaysia At 97th Academy Awards

The heartwarming film Abang Adik, directed by Jin Ong, will represent Malaysia at the 97th Academy Awards, as announced by the National Film Development Corp (Finas). The prestigious awards ceremony is set to take place in March 2025.

Abang Adik tells the poignant story of two stateless orphans living in the flats of Pudu, Kuala Lumpur. If you haven’t seen the film yet, it’s currently available on Netflix for viewing!

This compelling movie has already garnered significant acclaim, being nominated for seven Golden Horse Awards, with lead actor Kang Ren Wu winning the Best Actor prize.
