Pearly Tan Reveals Her hobbies for ‘Mobile Legends’ After Intense Training Sessions

National women’s doubles badminton player Pearly Tan, currently ranked world No. 6, has shared that after a long day of training or intense matches, she loves unwinding by playing Mobile Legends.

The 24-year-old shuttler expressed how the game helps her relax and de-stress. “I love playing Mobile Legends. It’s a great way to unwind after a tense match or an exhausting training session. That, and catching up on sleep whenever possible,” Tan said at an event over the weekend.

Tan also revealed that her gaming partner is world No. 8 mixed doubles player Toh Ee Wei. The two have been close friends since their junior days, particularly after their successful runs at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships in Jakarta and the World Championships in Markham, Canada. “I actually got ‘Ah Toh’ to download the game so we could play together,” Tan added.

This isn’t the first time Tan has expressed her love for the multiplayer online battle arena game. In an October get-to-know-us video with her badminton partner Thinaah Muralitharan, Tan shared that if she weren’t a professional badminton player, she would pursue a career as an e-sports player. “I might choose e-sports because I love playing games, especially Mobile Legends,” Tan said.

Thinaah jokingly responded that Tan could even qualify for the Olympics if she were in e-sports.
