The cause of death for three attendees at the Pinkfish Countdown 2024 concert has finally been confirmed. Pathology reports have confirmed that all three victims died due to stimulant drug intoxication.

Police Confirm Drugs as Cause of Death

Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, informed that the autopsy results showed the cause of death was stimulant drugs intoxication.

However, the investigation for another victim who also passed away is still ongoing as the hospital has not yet released the full pathology report.

“So far, 53 witnesses have been interviewed in relation to this case. There are still victims receiving treatment at the hospital in stable condition but require close monitoring,” he said in an official statement today.

Hussein added that further investigations are being conducted and the case will be referred to the coroner once the investigation is complete.

Concert Turns into a Tragedy?

Earlier reports revealed that police were investigating the deaths of four individuals who reportedly died after attending the New Year’s Eve concert in Bandar Sunway.

Four police reports were made at University Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) regarding the deaths of two men and two women believed to be involved in the incident.

Previously, Hussein had stated that autopsies had been performed, and authorities were waiting for the laboratory test results for all the victims.

An initial examination of the bodies revealed no external injuries, and the case was classified as sudden death (SDR). However, the police are continuing their investigation to determine whether there are any criminal elements or other forms of poisoning involved in the deaths.
