Pos Malaysia CEO Under Fire for Sarcastic Comment on Postman’s Torn Uniform

Malaysians Demand Accountability After CEO’s Comment on Postman’s Torn Uniform Sparks Outrage

A viral screenshot has placed Pos Malaysia in the spotlight after CEO Charles Brewer’s allegedly dismissive response to an employee requesting a new uniform went viral.

On April 18, X user @evvok posted a screenshot of an internal exchange on Pos Malaysia’s employee app, Kyzence. In the message, a postman shared an image of his worn-out uniform and asked for a replacement, noting that customers had commented on its condition.

Brewer’s response? “Consider yourself fortunate you don’t work for a foreign carrier that doesn’t provide uniforms at all.”

The employee, surprised by the tone, replied that it was a customer who had made the comment and asked whether it was wrong to raise the issue through official channels.

The CEO’s reply was immediately criticised by Malaysians online for being unprofessional and lacking empathy. Many netizens expressed disappointment and even called for Brewer to step down from his role.

Official Apology Issued by Pos Malaysia

Pos Malaysia responded promptly with a public apology on their official Facebook page. They confirmed that the matter had been addressed directly with the employee involved.

Charles Brewer has also issued a personal apology to the staff member and to anyone who may have felt offended by his remarks. The company acknowledged that Brewer should have responded with greater empathy.

“Charles is committed to creating a respectful and supportive workplace for all Pos Wiras,” the company stated.

Pos Malaysia also announced that it would review and improve internal processes related to uniform distribution, ensuring that such matters are resolved quickly and respectfully.

The incident has reignited conversations about corporate leadership and employee treatment in Malaysia, with many asking whether those in top positions truly understand the day-to-day challenges faced by frontliners.

What’s your take on this issue? Should Charles Brewer remain as CEO, or is it time for a leadership change?
