The public now has the convenience to renew vehicle road tax, Motor Vehicle License (LKM), and Malaysia Driving License (LMM) through the MyJPJ app, starting February 1. Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook plans to implement it gradually, with a focus on private individual vehicles (citizens) initially.
“The addition of this feature aims to ease the public in the process of renewing LKM and LMM digitally, saving time and costs, and reducing congestion at JPJ counters,” he said during a visit to JPJ Selangor.

In an effort to encourage the use of e-LMM, a rebate of RM5 will be given to individuals who renew their driving license digitally from February 1 to December 31, 2024.
Anthony Loke stated that this initiative is open to Malaysian citizens who choose e-LMM during renewals through JPJ counters, the mySIKAP portal, MyJPJ app, or JPJ business partners like Pos Malaysia and MyEG Services Berhad.
Starting today, the public can use the new “Share LKM” feature on the MyJPJ app to share e-LKM with family members, friends, or other individuals authorized by the vehicle owner.
“Through this feature, vehicle owners can set a time limit for sharing, and it will be canceled if not activated within 24 hours. It’s easy—just click on the vehicle plate number and then click the ‘Share LKM’ button to share e-LKM with others,” explained Anthony Loke.
For drivers and vehicle owners not yet ready for full digitization until 2024, they can still opt for physical LKM and LMM. For interim adjustment purposes, JPJ will issue new and standardized physical LKM and LMM.
“These new LKMs do not need to be displayed on the vehicle mirror like before; instead, they can be kept according to the user’s convenience. This non-mandatory LKM slip is intended to provide time for those who still need to adapt to the digital system,” he added.
