In a shocking revelation, fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, allegedly funneled a whopping RM10.5 million to Hollywood stars Kim Kardashian and Pharrell Williams back in 2011. This claim was made in the Kuala Lumpur High Court during a hearing on 9 September.

UK-based financial fraud investigator Richard Templeman dropped the bombshell during the USD6.59 billion lawsuit filed by 1MDB against its former officials, Tan Sri Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah and Arul Kanda Kandasamy. The suit alleges a breach of trust and conspiracy that led to massive losses.

According to Templeman, Jho Low had siphoned USD1.03 billion from 1MDB into his shell company, Good Star Ltd., by 25 October 2011. Out of this, a staggering USD2,025,000 (RM8.8 million) was transferred to Talamasca Inc., which is allegedly linked to musician Pharrell Williams.

But that’s not all! Templeman also revealed that USD306,000 (RM1.3 million) went to reality TV icon Kim Kardashian and another USD100,000 (RM430,000) to her ex-husband, Kris Humphries. While these payments are confirmed, the exact reason behind the transfers remains a mystery.

Other recipients of Jho Low’s illicit funds include Chelsea Hospital Partners LLC, Greenberg Traurig International, and Blackhawk Partners Inc., with millions of dollars spread across various accounts. The purpose of these transactions? Still unclear.

The 1MDB scandal, one of Malaysia’s biggest corruption cases, continues to expose the web of financial deceit involving not only political figures but now global celebrities as well. This case runs parallel to another high-profile 1MDB trial involving former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who faces multiple charges for allegedly receiving RM2.27 billion in illegal funds.

With the Hollywood connection now surfacing, it seems the 1MDB scandal is far from over!
