Even the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, couldn’t hold back his emotions as he talked about his daughter’s upcoming wedding. Despite being a father of ten, the weight of this moment clearly hit hard.
Emotional Moment Caught on Camera
A heartwarming video posted on Tengku Ampuan Pahang’s TikTok shows the Sultan getting choked up while speaking about Tengku Puteri Raja, Tengku Puteri Afzan Aminah Hafidzatullah’s big day, which kicks off tomorrow (August 22) and runs until August 25 in Kuantan.
Tengku Ampuan Pahang summed it up perfectly, saying, “A father’s heavy heart as he lets go of his beloved princess.”
The Speech That Brought Tears
With his son, the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, by his side, Al-Sultan Abdullah shared his heartfelt wishes for his daughter’s wedding. “May the ceremony go smoothly, full of blessings, and be accepted by Allah, and may the marriage bond remain strong…” he said before his emotions overwhelmed him. Struggling to continue, the Sultan wiped away tears as he tried to compose himself.
Realizing he couldn’t go on, he handed over the speech to Tengku Hassanal, who completed his father’s blessings: “…and may it last until Jannah, InsyaAllah. Let us also pray for the continued safety and protection of Pahang Darul Makmur and its people by Allah SWT,” before finishing with two touching poems.
A Light Moment Amidst the Tears
After pulling himself together, Al-Sultan Abdullah managed to take back the microphone, even cracking a joke to lighten the mood.
This moment shows just how deeply Al-Sultan Abdullah loves his children, proving that even a Sultan’s heart can be full of emotion when it comes to his family.
