Trump Pushes “Lab Leak” Theory on White House Website, Redirects COVID Portal
The official COVID-19 portal under the Biden administration has been replaced — and with it, a new narrative pushed by former US President Donald Trump has emerged.
The original website for vaccines, treatments, and testing (COVID.gov) now redirects to a site focused on what’s known as the “lab leak” theory — the idea that COVID-19 may have originated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China.
Visitors to the new page are greeted with an image of Trump confidently walking between two bold words: Lab and Leak.
COVID.gov Becomes Political Arena
The site claims that the virus likely escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which has long been under scrutiny for conducting virus experiments allegedly under poor safety conditions.
The theory is used to question former US chief medical advisor Dr Anthony Fauci, accusing him of favouring a “natural origin” theory that may have misled the public.
The revamped site criticises the Biden administration for overstating the effectiveness of vaccines, despite acknowledging that vaccines “undoubtedly saved millions of lives.”
Mandates and Lockdowns Blamed for Greater Harm
The new website doesn’t just focus on the virus’s origin — it also slams the pandemic responses put in place over the last few years.
From mask mandates to social distancing to business lockdowns, the page claims such measures did more harm than good. It also points fingers at the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), accusing both of “failures” during the global health crisis.
Origins Still Unconfirmed
Despite the bold claims, no official body has conclusively proven the origins of COVID-19. Most scientific consensus remains divided, and investigations are ongoing globally.
According to the CDC, the first COVID-19 case in the United States was recorded in January 2020. The virus quickly spread around the globe, leading to mass lockdowns, travel bans, and emergency declarations in nearly every country.
