Elderly Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Near UTC Sentul, Family Appeals for Public Help

Elderly Woman Killed While Crossing Road Near UTC Sentul

The family of an elderly woman who died following a hit-and-run incident near UTC Sentul on Sunday is now appealing to the public for information to help identify the driver responsible.

According to a social media post shared by the victim’s grandchild, the incident occurred between 8am and 9am while the woman was waiting to cross the road on her way to the market, a routine she followed every day.

Dashcam Allegedly Captured Entire Incident

The family claims the woman was struck by a red Honda multi-purpose vehicle, which reportedly did not stop after the collision. Instead, the vehicle allegedly drove over her body before attempting to flee the scene.

The post stated that the entire incident was captured by a dashcam from a car in front. The family has indicated that the footage will be uploaded publicly to assist with identifying the driver.

Driver Allegedly Looked, Then Drove Away

According to the account, another vehicle managed to block the suspect’s car, forcing the driver to step out. However, the family alleged that after briefly looking at the injured woman, the driver returned to his vehicle and fled again.

No immediate police report or ambulance call was made at the scene, the family claimed.

Victim Died Before Receiving Medical Help

The elderly woman was reportedly left lying on the road with severe injuries, including shattered bones, heavy bleeding, and vomiting blood. Due to the delay in receiving medical treatment, she did not survive.

Her grandchild said the family believes the chance to save her life was lost because help did not arrive in time.

Family Appeals for Justice, Not Sympathy

In the emotional post, the family stressed that the appeal was not meant to stir drama, but to ensure the incident does not go unnoticed.

They urged anyone who recognises the red Honda with the registration number VR 307, or who knows the driver, to come forward and share the information.

The family concluded by saying they are seeking justice for their grandmother, adding that while the driver may have escaped the scene, he cannot escape the decision he made by choosing to leave.
