The internet is abuzz after Phua Chu Kang, also known as Gurmit Singh, was seen savoring Nasi Lemak in Malaysia with his hands.
Malaysia is truly a food paradise for those who love to try various dishes. Just name it, and we have it.
One of the most popular dishes among locals and tourists alike is Nasi Lemak, which comes with boiled egg, peanuts, cucumber, sambal, anchovies, and rice. To make it even tastier, you can add fried chicken or sambal paru (spicy beef lung). Sounds mouth-watering, right?
Phua Chu Kang Loves Malaysian Nasi Lemak
In a video posted on TikTok by @danieldineskl, the TikToker is seen with the actor famous for his character Phua Chu Kang, Gurmit Singh.
The actor was on a quest to find the best Nasi Lemak in Malaysia and was taken to a place called Mali’s Corner.
When asked whether he preferred Nasi Lemak from Malaysia or Singapore, Gurmit instantly chose Malaysia.
Looking at the plate of Nasi Lemak Gurmit had, it was loaded with goodies—stuffed tofu, fried chicken, boiled egg, and curry sauce.
What caught everyone’s eye was Gurmit eating with his hands, unlike the TikToker beside him who used a spoon and fork.
They also played a game where Gurmit had to choose between Malaysia and Singapore for various dishes. Here are his choices:
