A Western tourist was left in shock after visiting South Korea, realizing that local men were not as handsome as the actors often portrayed in K-Dramas. Previously excited to witness the real faces of Korean men, she was ultimately disappointed when reality didn’t match her expectations.

In a viral video posted on X (@stillgray), the woman shared her experience in Seoul. Initially, she expected the city to be filled with attractive men like Park Seo-joon and Kim Soo-hyun, but her hopes were shattered upon seeing that the men she encountered didn’t live up to her fantasy. She even recorded several random individuals she met on the streets, expressing her frustration at how different reality was from what she had seen in Korean entertainment.

“We’ve all been deceived. I feel so disturbed. I just want to go home now!” she exclaimed in the now-viral video, which has garnered tens of thousands of views.

Netizens ‘School’ the Tourist – “Real Life Isn’t a K-Drama Script!”

Her remarks sparked mixed reactions online. Many netizens criticized her for being naive and assuming that K-Dramas accurately represent the appearance of real Korean men. Some also called her out for recording strangers without consent just to critique their looks.

“Not all Korean men have stylists, perfect lighting, and filters like in dramas. This is real life, not a K-Drama script,” one netizen remarked sarcastically.

Others emphasized that beauty standards are subjective. A person’s physical appearance isn’t the sole factor that determines attractiveness—character and personality matter just as much.

“No matter how handsome someone is, if they have an ugly heart, they won’t be attractive. Don’t judge people based on appearances alone,” another user commented.
