Malaysian actress Uqasha Senrose has finally spoken out about the state of her marriage to actor Kamal Adli. During a TikTok live session on Wednesday, the actress revealed that she had been enduring hardship in silence for a year, primarily for the sake of their daughter, Hawra Uqaira, who is now 18 months old.
“Enduring for my child? Yes, I’ve been holding on for a year because of her,” Uqasha shared during the session.
This admission sheds new light on her recent move to file for divorce on 1 October at the Syariah Lower Court of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, confirming speculation that cracks had been forming in the relationship long before the legal step was taken.
A Personal Test of Strength
Uqasha also described the turmoil as a personal test of strength.
“Yes, this is a test, a test for me. This is the path I’ve been given, and every human being will face trials,” she said.
She further added that she has no intention of exposing or shaming anyone.
“I’ve been through enough, and I leave it to you all. I’ve never once said I wanted to shame anyone.”
Kamal Absent From Court
The first court proceeding for their divorce took place on Wednesday, but was postponed to 28 October due to Kamal Adli’s absence as the defendant.
Uqasha’s lawyer stated that the divorce was filed under Section 47 of the Islamic Family Law Act, citing irreconcilable differences between the couple.
Looking Back at Happier Times
Uqasha and Kamal were married on 5 November 2021 in a private ceremony held in Janda Baik, Pahang. They share one child, their daughter Hawra Uqaira.
Despite the current emotional turbulence, Uqasha’s candid admission shows that her decision wasn’t taken lightly — it came after deep consideration and a year-long effort to save the marriage, especially for the sake of their daughter.
