Majlis Bandaraya Pasir Gudang Issues Warning After Bazaar Items Found In Drain
Viral Complaint Sparks Immediate Inspection

The Pasir Gudang City Council took swift action after photos and complaints went viral showing business items, including tables and chairs, left inside a public drain in Bandar Seri Alam, Johor.
According to the council, inspections were conducted at the site, which is a licensed bazaar area managed by an appointed organiser.
The discovery raised concerns about cleanliness and public nuisance, particularly with items placed in or near drainage systems.
Warning Notice Issued To Organiser’s Representative

Following the inspection, the council’s enforcement department issued a formal warning notice to the organiser’s representative on 22 February.
The notice stated that the inspection found business-related items placed or left in public areas, resulting in unclean conditions and causing inconvenience to the public.
“As such, they are instructed to address the above issues within one day from the date this letter is issued. Failing to comply within the given period, appropriate action will be taken,” the notice stated.
Council Stresses Cleanliness & Public Safety
MBPG’s Licensing Department also informed the organiser about the issue and instructed them to ensure proper site management and cleanliness moving forward.
The council emphasised that follow-up inspections will be carried out to ensure compliance, maintain hygiene standards, and prevent disruption to the public drainage system.
“We take all matters involving cleanliness, safety, and public well-being seriously and will not compromise on any breach of the set conditions.
“MBPG also appreciates the public’s vigilance in sharing information and remains committed to ensuring that bazaar sites and public areas are properly managed and kept orderly,” they said.
The incident has once again highlighted the importance of responsible site management at public bazaars, particularly in high-traffic community areas.
