Masked Arsonists Burn Cikgu Chandra’s Cars After Daytime Attack On His Home

Masked Men Attack Cikgu Chandra’s Home Before Arson Incident

A disturbing incident has shocked many Malaysians after masked men targeted the home of social media activist Cikgu Chandra, whose real name is S. Chandrasegaran, in Puchong.

The attackers first appeared at his house earlier in the day before the situation escalated hours later when three of his cars were set on fire in the early morning of 10 March.

The attack has triggered widespread concern, especially as Chandrasegaran’s children were inside the house during the earlier confrontation.

Earlier Confrontation Outside The House

CCTV footage circulating online shows several masked individuals approaching Chandrasegaran’s home earlier that day.

According to Chandrasegaran, he noticed the suspects outside his house and immediately closed the front door to prevent them from entering.

“When I noticed the suspects outside, I immediately closed the front door but they kept knocking the front door for three minutes,” he said.

At that moment, he was inside the house with two of his children while his wife was away at work.

Feeling that the situation could turn dangerous, Chandrasegaran quickly contacted emergency services.

“I was at the dining area at the time. I immediately called 999 for help as I was worried for the safety of my family,” he explained.

The frightening encounter left his family shaken as the suspects continued knocking at the door for several minutes.

Damage To Property During The Incident

Although the suspects did not manage to enter the house, they still caused damage to Chandrasegaran’s property.

The rear windscreen of his Perodua Viva was smashed during the attack.

In addition, the metal security grille installed at the front door of the house was destroyed by the suspects.

For Chandrasegaran and his children, the attack created a terrifying situation that could have easily turned more serious.

Cars Set On Fire At 3am

The situation escalated dramatically just hours later.

Around 3am on 10 March, masked men returned to the house and set fire to three vehicles belonging to Chandrasegaran.

Independent preacher Firdaus Wong Wai Hung shared details of the incident in a Threads post, explaining that the attack happened in the early hours of the morning.

Firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Department arrived quickly and managed to extinguish the flames before the fire spread further.

Their swift response helped save two of Chandrasegaran’s vehicles from being destroyed.

Firdaus Wong strongly condemned the attackers in his post and described the masked individuals as extremists and terrorists.

Who Is Cikgu Chandra

Chandrasegaran, better known online as Cikgu Chandra, is a social media activist who frequently speaks about religious and social issues.

He has gained significant public attention due to controversial online posts and several legal cases linked to his activism.

Last year, he was charged in court for allegedly posting false communication on TikTok, although he pleaded not guilty to the accusation.

More recently, he was arrested by police in February for allegedly publishing remarks on Facebook that were considered insulting toward the Indian community.

Another Activist Was Attacked Days Earlier

The attack on Chandrasegaran comes just days after another activist reported being targeted in a separate incident.

Independent Islamic preacher and social media activist Muhammad Zamri Vinoth Kalimutu said he was attacked by an unknown motorcyclist while driving his car.

Photos shared online showed the shattered window of his vehicle.

According to Zamri, the attackers used sticks and a large rock in an attempt to harm him.

Police later arrested a 20 year old factory worker to assist investigations into the attack which took place at Taman Aston Acacia in Bukit Mertajam, Penang on 7 March.

Vinoth has been outspoken about issues involving illegally built Hindu temples, a topic he frequently discusses on social media.

Questions Raised As Leadership Remains Silent

The violent attack on Chandrasegaran’s home has now sparked intense debate among Malaysians.

Many observers are questioning how such a serious attack could happen to a citizen and activist while the response from national leadership appears quiet.

Critics argue that when homes are attacked and families placed in danger, Malaysians expect clear and firm condemnation from those in power, including the Prime Minister.

For supporters of Chandrasegaran, the incident is not just about vandalism or arson. It is about the safety of individuals who speak openly about sensitive issues.

They argue that when such attacks occur and leadership remains silent, it creates the impression that victims are left to face threats on their own.

For Chandrasegaran and his family, however, the immediate concern remains safety after a frightening night that could have ended far worse.
