Walk From KL To PD? Local YouTuber Proves It’s Possible

From KL To Port Dickson On Foot

Ever wondered if you can actually walk from Kuala Lumpur to Port Dickson? Turns out, you can. A local content creator, Bryson Lew, decided to take on the challenge and documented the entire journey on YouTube. Together with his friend, they completed the trip in six days, covering more than 150 kilometers and clocking over 210,000 steps.

6 Days, 150KM, Nonstop Challenge

The journey was far from easy. Battling extreme heat, exhaustion, and moments where they almost gave up, the duo pushed through until they finally reached the coastal town. The full experience was captured in a 40-minute video, showing every struggle and highlight along the way.

Fully Prepared Before Starting

Before starting the journey, Lew made sure they were fully prepared. He showed everything they packed, including first aid supplies, sunscreen, rain ponchos, hydration bags, walkie-talkies, extra clothes, device chargers, a Swiss army knife, and flashlights. They also brought camera gear and wore high visibility vests, packing everything into large backpacks before setting off.

Journey Starts At KLCC

Their journey began early in the morning at KLCC park, marking their 0KM point near the fountain. After a quick warm-up and even a curious interaction with a policeman, they officially started walking towards Port Dickson. As they moved through the city, they smartly used air-conditioned malls and covered walkways to avoid the heat.

Reality Hits After Leaving The City

As they moved further away from Kuala Lumpur, the environment changed quickly. “The further away we get from the city, the fewer roofs there are. That means more time under the blazing sun,” Lew said. By the time they reached Taman Connaught in Cheras, just 15KM in, he already felt like giving up. But they kept going, and the feeling slowly passed.

Unexpected Challenges Along The Way

The duo had no idea what to expect throughout the journey. They walked beside highways, through areas without proper footpaths, small towns, and even farms. Along the way, they encountered stray dogs, farm animals, and friendly locals who were curious about their mission. Some even cheered them on and wished them luck.

Scenic Views And Real Experiences

As they moved into more rural areas, the scenery became more breathtaking. Lush green hills, distant mountains, and wide open skies made the journey visually rewarding despite the physical exhaustion. They also shared insights about their gear, including their Insta360 camera, protective cap, walkie-talkies, and hydration setup.

Finally Reaching Port Dickson

Even after crossing the 100KM mark, they were still far from their destination. Due to detours and back roads, the total distance ended up at around 152.84KM, with approximately 211,844 steps taken. After six days, they finally arrived in Port Dickson, completing a journey many wouldn’t even attempt.

Malaysia Still Safe To Explore On Foot

Their journey shows that with proper planning and preparation, Malaysia can still be explored safely even on foot. While it’s not something everyone would try, their experience highlights the friendliness of Malaysians and the diverse landscapes across the country.
