The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has taken decisive action against a street corn vendor operating in front of the Twin Towers Shopping Center in Kuala Lumpur (KLCC) in response to public complaints about discomfort.

The complaint, shared on Twitter @isusemasaviral last Sunday, highlighted the discomfort experienced by visitors due to smoke and litter associated with the vendor.

In a video accompanying the complaint, two male vendors were seen operating a small stall, openly grilling corn in front of the shopping center.

DBKL acted promptly by deploying enforcement to address both vendors, aligning with the principle of maintaining comfort and cleanliness in public areas.

Images of the enforcement action, uploaded as evidence, showed DBKL officers advising the vendors and instructing them to wrap up their merchandise.

DBKL’s proactive measure received praise from netizens who called for more frequent patrols to address similar issues. “Well done, DBKL! Keep up regular patrols for cleanliness in KLCC,” said one netizen.

With DBKL’s swift and efficient action, visitors to KLCC can now enjoy a cleaner and more comfortable environment. Hopefully, this effort adds comfort and joy to everyone visiting KLCC!”
