Neelofa Defends RM850 Religious Class Fee at 5 Star Hotel
Neelofa Responds to Debate Over Premium Priced Religious Event
Malaysian actress and entrepreneur Neelofa addressed public discussions surrounding the RM850 fee for a religious programme she organised with her husband, Haris Ismail or PU Riz. According to her, the amount is justified because participants received a premium experience at a five star hotel.
Participants Received Food, Souvenirs and Premium Hospitality
Neelofa explained that the fee covered more than just knowledge sharing sessions. The venue selection, food, souvenirs and overall hospitality were intentionally curated to elevate the experience.
She added that participants were provided with a proper prayer space, comfortable facilities and exclusive items that aligned with the programme’s purpose.
Taking Religious Programmes to a Higher Level
She mentioned that while she and PU Riz had previously hosted many knowledge based events at mosques and universities, this particular programme was meant to raise the standard and setting.
The actress emphasised that participants understood what they were investing in and that no one had expressed dissatisfaction with the fee.
PU Riz Says Quality Experiences Often Come at a Price
PU Riz responded to the criticism by comparing the programme fee to what people are willing to pay for concerts or entertainment events. He noted that there is nothing wrong with spending on spiritual or personal development sessions if the environment enhances the experience.
He also shared that they plan to organise a version of the programme tailored for the middle class community, scheduled for 31 January 2026.
Online Reactions Show Mixed Opinions
The announcement stirred mixed responses online. Some agreed that premium venues naturally justify higher pricing, while others questioned whether religious programmes should be placed behind a paywall. The conversation continues to reflect broader discussions about accessibility, class and modern interpretations of religious learning spaces.
