Malaysia Probes Alleged Israeli Presence At Forest City’s Network School
Home Ministry Launches Investigation
Malaysia’s Home Ministry (KDN) has launched a full investigation into a Network School operating in Johor’s Forest City following allegations that Israeli nationals may have been involved in the programme by using passports from a third country. In a statement, the ministry said it is working closely with the Immigration Department, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and other relevant agencies to verify the identities and nationalities of those involved, examine the travel documents used, and determine whether any immigration laws were breached. KDN stressed that it takes seriously any matter involving national security, immigration compliance, and the possible misuse of Malaysia’s immigration facilities.
Authorities To Examine Passports And Immigration Records
According to KDN, investigators will examine the validity of travel documents, the purpose of entry into Malaysia, the immigration passes or facilities granted, and whether all conditions under Malaysian immigration laws and related legislation were complied with. The ministry also warned that stern action would be taken without compromise if investigations uncover any breaches of the law, abuse of immigration passes, submission of false information, or other offences that could threaten national security and the country’s interests. The investigation was prompted after videos circulated on Threads alleging that Israeli nationals were participating in activities organised by the so-called Network School in Forest City.
Johor MB Calls For Thorough Probe
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has also called for a comprehensive investigation into the matter. According to available information, Network School is a publicly known co-living and co-learning technology community founded by Silicon Valley entrepreneur Balaji Srinivasan, featuring an open membership and application process. KDN said the focus of its investigation is not the community itself, but whether specific individuals may have entered Malaysia using third-country passports in a manner that bypassed restrictions on Israeli passport holders. The ministry also urged the public to avoid speculation that could interfere with the ongoing investigation while authorities continue their inquiries.
