Aliff Syukri is considering legal action against a Malaysian interior designer who likened his house to a Tom Yum shop.

Malaysian entrepreneur Dato’ Aliff Syukri, known for his unique style, responded to a viral video by a local interior designer on social media. The video criticized the interior design of Aliff’s 3-storey bungalow, comparing it to a Tom Yum shop. Aliff wasn’t happy about it and decided to speak up.

The interior designer’s video criticized the design of Aliff’s house, comparing it to a Tom Yum restaurant, and Aliff is not happy about it at all.

“My art interior design is one of the best designer who won an award. Don’t use my name and fame to advertise your business.”

Responding to the viral video with over 3.6 million views, Aliff denied the name given to his home and accused the interior designer of exploiting his fame for her business.

Warning of legal consequences, Aliff insisted that his home’s interior design was done by a top Malaysian designer.

Furthermore, Aliff mentioned that his home has been nominated as one of the best-designed homes, representing Malaysia globally.

“It’s my home, I can do whatever I like. Don’t use my name. Don’t use my popularity to promote your interior design business. Wait for the letter of demand from me.”

In his caption, Aliff advised the interior designer not to think she’s superior to others in the industry and stated that she isn’t even registered with the Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID).

After Aliff’s video response, the interior designer released an apology statement under her company’s name, expressing regret to Aliff and the interior design company responsible for his house. She also deleted the video.

The video where the interior designer criticized Aliff’s home has been removed from social media platforms. According to Lobak Merah, the interior designer disclosed that she received a message from a representative of Aliff Syukri’s interior designer, demanding an explanation and an apology within 24 hours.

In her statement, the interior designer clarified that the video criticizing Aliff’s home was intended for illustrative purposes and should not be regarded as factual. She emphasized that it was not her intention to mislead anyone, including Aliff, with false information.

In line with professionalism and respect for colleagues in the industry, the interior designer extended an apology to Aliff and the interior design company responsible for his house for the remarks made in the video.
