Bill O’Reilly Goes ‘Unhinged,’ Attacks PMX’s Statement on Economy and Colonialism

Famous U.S. political commentator Bill O’Reilly has once again sparked controversy by openly criticizing Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (PMX), for remarks made regarding the economic status of three Southeast Asian countries — Malaysia, Vietnam, and Cambodia.

The incident started when O’Reilly questioned the value of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to these countries last week, sarcastically suggesting that these countries “don’t have money” to buy products from China — a statement that was later rebutted by PMX, who called it a result of a “narrow worldview” shaped by imperialism and colonialism.

“Malaysia Has Low Income, Almost Doesn’t Eat,” O’Reilly Mocks

In his latest response, O’Reilly ridiculed Anwar’s statement while highlighting the income disparity between the people of Malaysia and the United States.

“Malaysia’s per capita annual household income is US$5,731, while the U.S. is US$42,220. That’s eight times higher. So, Malaysians won’t be able to buy anything. They can’t even afford a hat, let alone Chinese food in Kuala Lumpur. They’re almost starving!” he said sarcastically.

He also mocked that China wouldn’t be able to sell products to Malaysia, Vietnam, or Cambodia because the purchasing power of the people in these countries is too low.

He’s Visited Before, But Malaysia Is “Complicated”

O’Reilly also claimed that he had visited Malaysia in the past and admitted the country is beautiful — but at the same time described it as “complicated.”

“I want Malaysia to succeed… but this ‘colonizer’ is just stating the truth,” he said sarcastically to Anwar.

Conservative Support & Trump Ties

O’Reilly is one of the most influential media figures among America’s conservatives. He is known to have close ties with Donald Trump, having interviewed and attended sports events with the former U.S. president.

His influence on Fox News and his conservative rhetoric have played a role in shaping public political thought in the U.S., especially regarding foreign policy towards Asia and trade.
