One of the most heartwarming moments from the recently concluded Paris 2024 Olympics has to be when Chinese gymnast Zhou Yaqin playfully copied the Italian gymnasts Alice D’Amato and Manila Esposito, pretending to bite her silver medal on the podium.

Despite her viral moment and the impressive feat of winning a silver medal at just 18, Zhou has remained grounded and hasn’t let the fame get to her head.

After returning from Paris, the Olympic silver medalist can be seen helping out at her parents’ restaurant

In a recent viral video, Zhou, fresh off her win in the women’s balance beam, was spotted pitching in at her family’s restaurant, serving dishes to customers like any regular server.

The video, originally shared on Douyin and later reposted on X (formerly Twitter) by @lsjricna, shows Zhou casually helping out at the restaurant, despite her newfound fame. The clip has since racked up over 704,900 views and more than 13,000 likes on X.

Zhou’s post on Weibo, where she promoted her family’s restaurant, also went viral after being reposted on X by @ouyushanskorbut. The post features four photos: two showcasing the restaurant’s dishes, one of the cozy interior, and one of a wall proudly displaying Zhou’s gymnastics achievements. It has garnered over 973,000 views and 14,000 likes.

Talk about staying humble! Zhou Yaqin might be an Olympic star, but she’s still down to earth, helping out at her family’s restaurant like she always has.
