Man Complains About Cars Left for Months at Public Parking Area
Public Parking Misused by Vehicle Owners
Public parking areas are provided to ease movement for visitors and daily commuters, but some people have taken advantage of these facilities by leaving their cars for long periods, blocking others from using the space. In some places, vehicles are left untouched for months and are covered in thick layers of dust, raising concerns among regular users.
Man Uncomfortable With Cars Left for Months
A man known as Mat Charming recently shared his frustration on TikTok after noticing several cars abandoned for months at a public parking spot near Angkasapuri. He explained that the parking area was originally opened to help visitors who come for meetings or official matters at Angkasapuri, and that parking in the area is free.
According to him, parking at Angkasapuri proper requires a pass, but the outdoor lot does not, which is why many people misuse the space.
Cars Covered in Dust and Left Without Moving
He pointed out multiple cars parked for extremely long periods. Among them was a Perodua Kancil covered in dust, which he estimated had been left there for one or two months. Another car appeared even worse, as if it had been abandoned for nearly a year.

He noted that some owners might be from nearby neighbourhoods such as Pantai Dalam, parking their cars there because nearby housing areas are already crowded with vehicles.
Possibly Abandoned Due to Vehicle Damage
He also believed that some of the vehicles might be damaged and left there because owners cannot park them at their residential areas. Since the parking lot is free, some choose to leave their unusable cars instead of disposing of them properly.
Calls for Authorities to Take Action
He urged RTM Angkasapuri to take this matter seriously because the parking is meant for staff and visitors, not outsiders who leave their vehicles indefinitely. He stressed that it should not be treated as a storage yard.
He added that the number of abandoned cars was not small, and that many more were parked long term in other sections of the area. He asked the authorities to bring in tow trucks and remove the vehicles.
Netizens Agree with His Concerns
Many commenters agreed with his statement. Some suggested turning the parking into a paid facility to prevent misuse. Others recommended that abandoned cars be towed and auctioned off.
There were also opinions that Malaysian authorities should enforce policies requiring vehicles older than ten years to be disposed of properly.
