But in Saudi Arabia, things are quite different. These humble slippers have become a fashion statement, and they come with a hefty price tag.

In a viral video on social media, a salesperson is seen promoting these Japanese-style sandals. The slippers feature rubber straps and colorful soles, including the iconic blue color. The salesperson even demonstrates their flexibility and durability by bending them forcefully.

Apparently, these slippers are now trending in Saudi Arabia and are being sold for as high as RM5,610. At such a high price, it’s likely that only the wealthy or T20 group can afford them.

Unlike in Malaysia, where these slippers are cheap and often donated for use in mosques, the situation in Saudi Arabia has left netizens in shock.

Many commented in disbelief, joking that they should become suppliers to Saudi Arabia given the crazy demand and prices.
